Dust and Dirt

Dust and dirt can accumulate on your handbag over time. Use a soft, dry cloth to gently wipe the exterior of your handbag. Do not put your bag through a washing machine.

Water and stains can damage the fabric and structure of your handbag. For fabric and vinyl handbags, be cautious of spills and try to treat stains immediately with appropriate cleaning solutions. Many of my linings are made from "waterproof" canvas, however this does not guarantee that the bag is entirely waterproof and it can still be affected by liquid spills. 

 

Storage

When not in use, store your handbag in a dust bag or a cool, dry place. Avoid hanging your handbag by its straps, as this can cause them to stretch. Instead, place it upright to maintain its shape. If your handbag has a structured design, consider stuffing it with tissue paper to help retain its form.

 

Avoid Overloading

While it may be tempting to carry everything in your handbag, overloading it can lead to wear and tear. Limit the items you carry to essentials, and be mindful of the weight to prevent strain on the seams and handles.

 

Handle with Care

Be gentle when using your handbag. Avoid dragging it on rough surfaces, and be cautious when placing it down to prevent scratches or scuffs. If your handbag has embellishments, handle them carefully to avoid damage.

Periodically check your handbag for any signs of wear, such as loose threads, frayed edges, or damaged hardware. Addressing these issues early can prevent further damage and prolong the life of your handbag.
